02-10-2008 Anonymous Non-Violent Protest

Today was the day. Organized at the end of January, on the birth date of Lisa McPherson, the group Anonymous brought together people from around world to protest the Church of Scientology. This was conducted by a series of YouTube videos and posted messages online. They explain more about Anons (members of Anonymous.) Even Ex-Scientology members came to the protests in support. One thing to remember: Anons are not against the belief of the Church of Scientology. If they choose to believe the words of L. Ron Hubbard, that's fine. Freezone is one of those groups. Anonymous is simply against the organization of the Church of Scientology and their actions (suppression of free speech, intimidation tactics, defrauding the IRS, scamming people out of thousands of dollars, and deaths of people in their care.) This isn't just in one area of the United States. The Church of Scientology is all across the world. This is just to show that even with a short time and using on the internet to organize this, Anonymous is serious. People have learned what happens in Co$ and are motivated to spread awareness.

For the first time ever, Anonymous is a real life Stand Alone Complex. This movement emerged not from one person, but from the collective minds of many people. People brought together by the same opinions have joined together to create this growing movement without a figurehead. Each individuals on their own is a source of ideas and support. There is no icon for the group; just hope. The cause is the leader. Since everyone performs the cause, they are all leaders. Many leaders with different beliefs, religions, languages, and time zones. Males, females, young, elder, non-members, or ex-members, all are the same. When everyone is motivated by the same goal, there is no need for identity.

Anonymous is not about hate, hacking, or harm. Preventing any further harm is their goal. As if a digital Gandhi, they plan with non-violence and stand strong. When freedom of speech was suppressed by the removal of a leaked video on YouTube, Anonymous acted. People have had enough and are standing up.

If you are interested, curious, or just think this is a lie, I encourage you to do some research and decide for yourself. Here are some good sources to start:

I would like to point out that most of these people are masked for one or both of two reasons. 1) It is VERY cold in most places right now and/or 2) The Co$ have a "Fair Game" policy. Anyone
who is a critic of Co$ is an enemy of Co$. Anyone who is an enemy of Co$ is subject to their "Fair Game" policy in their eyes. Its stated as:

SP Order. Fair game. May be deprived of property or injured by
any means by any Scientologist without any discipline of the
Scientologist. May be tricked, sued or lied to or destroyed.

So understand that being masked is not about being secretive, it is about safety. People said all day across the world the Co$ would take their pictures or video tape them. Some members stated that they were followed to their cars after the protests.

This was the caption with this picture:
I thought there was going to be some trouble when all four cops came over to our side of the street. However, this officer, after asking a couple of questions, actually ended by saying, “Call us if you need anything.” Honestly…that’s an exact quote.

One man was brave enough to stand in Tokyo. He has no pictures because he was alone and did not want to get arrested due to Co$/Police. He is quoted:

"Negative on the photos, since I was without backup I didn't want to do anything that might cause them to react adversely. They had guys posted on the corners of the block the center is on, and people in front of the building. After 11pm they had people handing out information on the train. I believe they had people waiting at a Starbucks across from the train station looking for people congregating."
